01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Some visitors say the grilled clams and fried chicken stood out at the izakaya Don. It’s a good place to pick a few dishes and enjoy them with drinks. The menu also includes fried octopus, fried water eggplant, shrimp ajillo and octopus ajillo. Depending on your mood, you could add another fried dish or order a baguette to go with the ajillo. There’s also amberjack sashimi and yellowtail collar, giving you options if you’d like to focus on seafood.

Another visitor remembers the orange-tinged egg yolk on the pork tonpei-yaki, and says they enjoyed the rice porridge ordered after hot pot. Others mention having pork belly hot pot and tonpei-yaki. For a heartier meal, you could make a hot pot followed by a finishing dish the focus of your evening.

Drinks include draft beer and bottled Asahi and Kirin, along with chuhai in flavours such as lemon, yuzu, black tea and tomato. Shochu can be served on the rocks or with water, so it’s easy to choose a style to suit the food. The restaurant is also said to be suitable for dining alone, and karaoke is available. Whether you’re there mainly for a meal or for a night of drinks and singing, there are different ways to spend your time.

Open Wednesday through Saturday from 18:00 until 0:30 the following day; closed Tuesday, Sunday and Monday. Cash only.
